Heaven and Hell don't exist!?!?
Last night when I was pondering upon God's word in Psalm 8, a question pops into my head (from one of Chrisye's songs), and it keeps me thinking. I can reflect back through my life and motivation of living a Christian life.
The question is : If Heaven and Hell do not exist, how would you lead your life?
The assumption is everything else is still the same. There would still be church, christian, God, Jesus, etc.
But can you take some time and think back:
1. If heaven and hell doesn't exist, would you accept Jesus into your life as your God and savior?
-- If you receive Him as your God, means He will rule over you. Would you still do that?
-- The alternative would be: you can do whatever things you want in this world.
2. Would you still come to church every week?
-- Even if you come to church every week, you won't get into the Heaven because there is no Heaven.
3. Would you still serve at church?
4. Would you still lead christian life (e.g.: integrity, honesty, love each other, love your enemy, etc.)?
5. Any other questions that can pop into your head.
These questions made me think deep, what is it that made me become a Christian. Or more precisely, what keeps me being Christian.
How about you? Would you still be a Christian if there are no Heaven or Hell?

Ku Mengasihi Yesus
Ku Mengasihi Yesus
(Fanny Erastus - Song of Compassion)
Ku Mengasihi Yesus
Bukan hanya dengan kata-kata
Tak cukup kataku, tak cukup nyanyian
Mengungkapkan kasihku Tuhan
Ku Mengasihi Yesus
Dengan milik dan s'genap hidupku
Walaupun ku tau takkan mampu bagiku
Membalas kasih-Mu Tuhan
Tuhanku Engkau Allahku, aku tercipta hanyalah untuk-Mu
Memuji serta menyembah kepada-Mu Raja Mulia
Kusadari ku tak berhak hidup kecuali bagi-Mu Tuhan
My Lord, I came to love this song so much lately. This is a song that reflects my love for you. I really want to be your favourite. I know that I am still very far from your standard. My Lord, take me closer to You.
Many times I'm getting impatient on listening to You, on waiting for You, then I go and do things my own way. It hurted me a lot, and also hurted those around me. I then tried to listen to You in my despair. After some times I stop listening and do my own thing again. Oh Boy.. you are truly impatient.
Father, lead me to the path You want me to walk in. Don't let me walk in an easy path that I might forget you. Don't let me walk in a hard path that I might leave you. Lead me to the path that I can be as close as possible to you every day. That I can have best relationship with you. That I can have new revelation of You and Your truth. That I can live and share your truth to those around me, that they might be changed.
Father, help me so that I can know your voice. You told me that I would recognize your voice. So please, speak to me in the way that I can understand. I need You, more than yesterday.

Teach Me
I came across this beautiful song by True Worshippers. It's called Teach Me, and this is from their third album (A True Celebration). Personally, I think that their earlier albums are better than their recent ones. This song has left a deep impression for me, and I want to share it so this song can be a blessing for you as well. Click here to listen/download the song. Here goes:
Teach Me
(True Worshippers - A True Celebration)
Teach me to worship You
Teach me to adore You
I want to love You
With my whole being
To learn to praise Your name
Each day to do the same
Teach me o Lord the way
To worship You
I want to worship You
I want to adore You
I want to love You
With my whole being
To forsake my sinful way
To look upon Your face
And understand Your grace
O Lord my God
Worship is more than just words that come out from our lips. Worship is more than the ritual that we do on the church service, cell group, or personal quiet time. Even if those words (we feel) come out from our hearts. This kind of worship is just one aspect of worship.
Real worship comes when we are outside the church, cell group, or quiet time. What we think, what we feel, what we say, what our action is the real worship to Him. Our motives (and hidden motives) when we do an action, are they rightful in His eyes? All the things that we do, all the things that we say, all the feelings, motives, and thoughts that are rightful and perfect in His eyes are the real worship. And this act of worship is the one that is pleasing to Him. Having Jesus Christ's attitude (thoughts and feelings - Indonesian translation) - Phil 2:5, knowing what is good, pleasing, and perfect will of God - Rom 12:2, these are the real worship.
And so, being under pressure at work and still having joy instead of grumbling is an act of worship. Living healthily, with the underlying motive that with our health we can live more effectively for the Lord, is an act of worship. Encourage or rebuke a friend with His wisdom instead of just saying things that are going to please him, is an act of worship. When these acts become our lifestyle, people will see our good deeds and will glorify our Father in Heaven (Mat 5:16).
I am far than perfect, and I pray so that You can teach me to have this kind of worship and my life will be pleasing in Your eyes.
