Teach Me

I came across this beautiful song by True Worshippers. It's called Teach Me, and this is from their third album (A True Celebration). Personally, I think that their earlier albums are better than their recent ones. This song has left a deep impression for me, and I want to share it so this song can be a blessing for you as well. Click here to listen/download the song. Here goes:

Teach Me
(True Worshippers - A True Celebration)

Teach me to worship You
Teach me to adore You
I want to love You
With my whole being

To learn to praise Your name
Each day to do the same
Teach me o Lord the way
To worship You

I want to worship You
I want to adore You
I want to love You
With my whole being

To forsake my sinful way
To look upon Your face
And understand Your grace
O Lord my God

Worship is more than just words that come out from our lips. Worship is more than the ritual that we do on the church service, cell group, or personal quiet time. Even if those words (we feel) come out from our hearts. This kind of worship is just one aspect of worship.

Real worship comes when we are outside the church, cell group, or quiet time. What we think, what we feel, what we say, what our action is the real worship to Him. Our motives (and hidden motives) when we do an action, are they rightful in His eyes? All the things that we do, all the things that we say, all the feelings, motives, and thoughts that are rightful and perfect in His eyes are the real worship. And this act of worship is the one that is pleasing to Him. Having Jesus Christ's attitude (thoughts and feelings - Indonesian translation) - Phil 2:5, knowing what is good, pleasing, and perfect will of God - Rom 12:2, these are the real worship.

And so, being under pressure at work and still having joy instead of grumbling is an act of worship. Living healthily, with the underlying motive that with our health we can live more effectively for the Lord, is an act of worship. Encourage or rebuke a friend with His wisdom instead of just saying things that are going to please him, is an act of worship. When these acts become our lifestyle, people will see our good deeds and will glorify our Father in Heaven (Mat 5:16).

I am far than perfect, and I pray so that You can teach me to have this kind of worship and my life will be pleasing in Your eyes.
